The Kotjahari Organic Farm project is situated in West Rukum District. The objective of the project is to create a farm that models the cultivation of 100% organic and sustainable crops: grains, vegetables, and fruits. We will emphasize and practice sustainable and environmentally friendly ways to cultivate each crop and will use no chemical pesticides or herbicides.
The project is also designed to provide horticultural therapy and improve the social status of people who have a mental or a physical disability by employing them at the farm, which in turn will also lift them out of poverty.
Furthermore, we aim to produce, package and sell products from the farm in order to raise income that can be used to continue the work on the farm and keep the project self-sustained.
