Anticipatory Action!

HDCS together with its partners are geared up and ready to build the capacity of communities to respond to disasters. Under our Anticipatory Action Project called the Forecast Based Emergency Response (FOREBER) project, we organized a 5 day (9th -13th July) Disaster Preparedness and Simulation Exercise training in Manang, together with the District Disaster Management Committee of Manang. This was carried out with the combined initiative of our Joint Security Forces and the RNA-16 team.

27 volunteers comprising of Nepal Army, APF, Nepal Police and Youth from the community  participated in this training and learned about the following topics: rope handling and rescue techniques, fire control and medical first responder and general emergencies.
