Foreword

HDCS started by doing a number of small projects that supported  the community people be it in field of health, education and community development. HDCS even build a suspension bridge in Dhading, did craft work training, sustainable farming like mushroom farming. After 10 years in work HDCS took its first giant step in the field of health by building partnership with the Government of Nepal and the Ministry of Health and Population MoHP. The first project began officially by working together with the Government of Nepal when HDCS helped transform Lamjung Jilla Samudayik Hospital into the Lamjung District Community Hospital LDCH. HDCS become responsible for the management of the hospital. At the same time, the Rukum Hospital was in grave challenge due to the Maoist insurgency, the hospital was shut down over a month and Government of Nepal requested HDCS to handle the hospital.

In 2004, UMN announced not to run the Tansen hospital so we took the initiative until 2004-7 to managed Tansen and Okhaldhunga Hospitals, and then in 2007 we handed UMN back the hospitals. From 2007-2012 HDCS managed and transformed 5 hospital, Tansen, Dadeldhura, Okhaldhuga, Lamjung and Rukum hospital.

CHR and LDCH have both signed a 10 years agreement in 5th January 2015.
